Rockabilly Clothing Australia

The word 'rockabilly' was a term first used in the 50's to describe the combination of rock 'n' roll and hillbilly music. Some say it was used to describe hillbillies singing rock 'n' roll.   Rockabilly became a culture with a mix of the 1950's fashion with the 1950s and 1960s music. Elvis Presley popularised rockabilly music in the 50's with 'Thats Alright' and 'Blue Moon of Kentucky'

After the death of Presley in 1977, rockabilly experienced a revival with women wearing 50's style swing dresses and reviving rockabilly style music.

Modern day rockabillies still wear the 50's fashions and sometimes a touch of punk or goth with various hair styles and tatts and typically hang out in their 50's hotrods. Rockabilly's is the most popular in Japan and in Germany where rockabilly boys mix Gothic Lolita girls.
